Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities- Fall 2017
Native Planting Day – November 29
Volunteer with the Green Fund’s native plant project on Wednesday, November 29 from 9:30 a.m. – noon. Volunteers will be planting wood aster and Christmas fern on a portion of campus near the intersection of Fraternity Row and Vaught Drive. (A map will be sent to all registered volunteers before the event.) Native plants will enhance species and structural diversity at the project site and help bring beneficial pollinators to campus. This event is made possible by the UM Green Fund, Biology Department, Strawberry Plains Audubon Center and the UM Office of Sustainability.
Two volunteer opportunities are available through Green Grove in the fall, game day volunteering and recycling sorting. Game day volunteers pass out recycling bags and educate tailgaters about recycling in order to reduce the amount of waste produced on game days. Sorting volunteers work on the Mondays and Tuesdays after home games to sort through the recycling bags collected in the Grove, Circle, and stadium. Use the links below to sign up for game day or sorting.
Volunteer opportunities are open to UM students, faculty, staff and community members. Check out photos from past volunteer events below!
