Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities- Fall 2017
Let’s get sifty! Volunteer to sift compost with us during the fall 2017 Sift-A-Thon on Friday October 13 (1 p.m. – 4 p.m.) at the UM Compost Site. Shifts are flexible and transportation to the compost site is provided. Volunteers can choose to sift their own compost and take home what they sift at a discounted price. This event is open to university faculty, staff, students and community members.
Two volunteer opportunities are available through Green Grove in the fall, game day volunteering and recycling sorting. Game day volunteers pass out recycling bags and educate tailgaters about recycling in order to reduce the amount of waste produced on game days. Sorting volunteers work on the Mondays and Tuesdays after home games to sort through the recycling bags collected in the Grove, Circle, and stadium.
