Getting Outside

There are lots of ways to stay active and get outdoors on campus and in the surrounding area. Check out the ideas below: 

On Campus

  • South Campus Rail Trail
    • The south campus rail trail is located across from the south campus rec center  and offers an area to get outdoors and explore, bike, walk, and run. 
  • Bailey Woods Trail  
    • The Bailey Woods trail is located between the UM Museum and Rowan Oak and can be walked.
  • Ole Miss Outdoors
    • Ole Miss Outdoors (OMOD) is a multifaceted, inclusive program offered through the Department of Campus Recreation that introduces students, faculty, staff, and community members to the great outdoors. Ole Miss Outdoor programming includes principles like Leave No Trace that supports environmental stewardship. 
  • UM Tree Trail
    • The UM Tree Trail is organized by Landscape Services and is available on the UM campus map. 
  • UM Pollinator Gardens 
    • The UM Pollinator Gardens are an effort in collaboration with the Office of Sustainability and Landscape Services. These pollinator gardens allow the university to be a designated Bee Campus and provides opportunities to support native pollinators on campus. POllinator Garden locations can be found as a tour  on the UM campus map.
